Kieni AB, Kenya - Espresso
Originating from the esteemed Kieni Wet Mill - part of the Mugaga Farmers’ Cooperative Society perched near Karatina in Kenya’s Nyeri region - this espresso brings together coffee from approximately 900 - 1000 smallholder farmers cultivated at elevations between 1,600 and 1,800 m. Grown in fertile volcanic soils and intercropped alongside banana and other shade trees, Kieni supports both soil health and biodiversity.
Using the classic washed process with double fermentation, followed by careful drying on raised beds, Kieni unlocks clarity and vibrant, intense fruit expression in the cup profile.
